I got exactly what I ordered. I am pleased with this product and the ease of use. &nbsp; <br />Bought this modem to replace a modem I was renting from my cable provider. So far so good but I have not owned it very long. It is great not to be renting. &nbsp;<br /><br />After yet another price increase on my rental modem by my cable provider, Charter, I decided to take action. I found this used Motorola Surfboard SB5100 for a low price and ordered it to replace my Charter rental modem, model #SB5101. Once the modem arrived, I swapped out the units. The replacement modem had to be set up online to work with my internet provider, but this process was quick and easy. After using the SB5100 modem for a few weeks, I found no difference in performance and speed. In my case, owning the modem instead of renting it will pay for itself in only three months.<br /><br />This is the same exact modem that Comcast installed for their Cable internet. I bought this, rather than pay a monthly rental fee to use their modem. I unhooked the one I was borrowing for the first month, hooked this one up, registered it with Comcast (it brought me there upon trying to access the Internet), and no further configurations had to be made. Works great and simple to configure (although I'm a technical person, I believe just about anyone should be able to set this up).
